Finnish for Foreigners CD Course, Volume 1 and 2
This practical course in modern Finnish was developed by Maija-Hellikki Aaltio of Helsinki University. One of the accompanying books provides transcripts of the Finnish dialogs with idiomatic Englsh translations, notes on structural patterns and explanations of essential grammar points; the other provides a variety of exercises with instructions in English. Volume 2 of the practical course in modern Finnish developed by Maija-Hellikki Aaltio of Helsinki University. This volume introduces learners to structures needed in writing, as well as speech, especially the use of participles and infinitives as substitutes for various subordinate clauses. Dialogs and narratives are wtihout English translations, and the number of new words listed for each lesson has been somewhat reduced from those in Volume 1.
